ISLINGTON - Nestled at the heart of Islington’s bustling Holloway Road is the hidden gem known as Neza Restaurant and Bar where specializes in Mediterranean cui- sine, boasts an array of dishes meticulously crafted from fresh, top-quality ingredients that exemplify the essence of the region. As a patron, I was treated to an exceptional dining experience that seamlessly blended flavour, ambiance, and attentive service.
From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmo- sphere that enveloped the space. The restau-
rant’s elegant interior, adorned with deep green walls and tasteful gold ac- cents, exuded a romantic allure with its yellow colour lights that was per- fect for any occasion. The clever use of colour and design elements created an ambiance that was both cosy and refined, setting the stage for a memo- rable dining experience.
The culinary journey began with a tantalizing appetizer: Calamari (£6.00). The dish arrived plated to perfection, featuring crispy fried cal- amari accompanied by a zesty lemon wedge and a side of tartar sauce. The
calamari were impeccably fried, boasting a delicate crunch that gave way to tender, flavourful seafood within. The pairing of textures and flavours was a testament to the kitchen’s skilful execution.
For the main course, I opted for the Lamb Chops (£18.00), a choice I found to be both indulgent and rewarding. The tender lamb chops were expertly seasoned and grilled
of rice or chips as a side further added a personal touch to the dining experience. I selected the rice, which complemented the succulent lamb chops beautifully.
The grand finale was a slice of Bakla- va, a quintessential Mediterranean dessert known for its layers of flaky pastry and honeyed sweetness. This delightful ending was a testament to Neza’s commitment to delivering an authentic culinary journey that captures the essence of Mediterranean culture.
One aspect that truly impressed me was the restaurant’s versatility. Neza is not only a destination for intimate dinners, but it also caters to various gatherings and events. The availability of a private room ensures that celebrations like birthdays, family gather- ings, and business meetings can be hosted with elegance and exclusivity. The spacious setting and well-appointed table arrange- ments contribute to a sense of privacy that enhances the overall experience.
The restaurant’s strategic location, just a stone’s throw away from the Emirates Sta- dium, makes it an ideal stopover before or after an Arsenal football match. Its popu- larity on a Wednesday evening, a typically quiet weekday, speaks volumes about its reputation and the quality it consistently delivers.
Neza Restaurant and Bar is a culinary place that skilfully captures the essence of Mediterranean cuisine. From the enticing decor to the thoughtfully crafted dishes, every element combines to create an unfor- gettable dining adventure. Whether you’re seeking a romantic dinner, a festive celebra- tion, or a pre-match feast, Neza effortlessly emerges as a top choice that promises not just a meal, but a journey through the fla- vours of the Mediterranean.
