Can you share more about your journey transitioning from roles in marketing, stra- tegy consultancy, tech, and law to taking on the role of CEO?
My experience before joining Powder Byrne exposed me to multiple disciplines, especially strategic thinking, digital innova- tion, legal structure and brand building. Each played a role in shaping how I lead today.
I never intended to step into the CEO role purely because it was a family business.
I wanted to bring meaningful value and legitimacy. My external experience allowed me to approach Powder Byrne with a fresh perspective, identifying opportunities to modernise without compromising the soul of the company.
Ultimately, the transition felt natural because the company has always been part of my life with people that I have known for decades. Becoming a CEO meant merging personal heritage with professional ambition and ensuring that the focus is on the team and doing business our own unique way.
What distinguishes Powder Byrne in the competitive luxury travel industry, and how do you maintain its leadership status in this space?
Powder Byrne has always been, and continues to be, the most premium luxury family ski and mountain travel company in the market. It is quite easy for a company
to say they offer personalised service and curated experiences, but very few run their own in-resort programmes, staff their own childcare, design their own ski schools, or maintain the level of operational control that we do.
Our exclusivity comes from the fact
that everything we offer is built and run in-house, from our PB Private Flights, Ski Butler Services, Powder Byrne Drivers and dedicated Client Concierge to our Children’s Ski Programmes and Powder Byrne adult ski hosting.
Our families quickly realise that what they experience with us simply is not replicable. Once they travel with Powder Byrne, the standard becomes non-negotiable, which is why our repeat rate is so high and why we believe that once a client, always a client. Leadership in the industry comes from con- sistency, constant refinement and staying ab- solutely committed to quality over volume.
