Can you tell us about your journey into
aesthetic medicine and what inspired you
to bring your medical expertise to this
field?
I began my medical career as an anaest-
hetist and then a GP, but I’ve always had a
keen interest in regenerative medicine and the
science of aging. Aesthetic medicine offered
the perfect intersection of my expertise—
combining medical knowledge with artistry
to enhance confidence and well-being. I was
particularly drawn to the ability to improve
not only how patients look but also how
they feel, both physically and emotionally.
That’s why I now focus on treatments that
go beyond aesthetics, such as intimate health
and regenerative therapies, which can have a
profound impact on quality of life.

administering aesthetic procedures. We need
tighter legislation to ensure that practitioners
are adequately trained, that treatments are
carried out in safe environments, and that
patients receive proper aftercare. I’d also like
to see better public education so that people
understand the risks of going to unqualified
providers. That is why I am working with
the JCCP to try and bring about changes in
legislation.
“Education is key. I always take the time to
explain treatments in detail, including bene-
fits, risks, and realistic expectations.”
– Dr Shirin Lakhani
Your approach focuses on achieving
natural results tailored to each individu-
al’s needs. How do you strike the right
balance between enhancing beauty and
maintaining authenticity?
Aesthetic treatments should enhance rather
than alter. My philosophy is all about wor-
king with a patient’s unique features to bring
out their best version of themselves. That’s
why I take a highly personalised approa-
