In 2012, Deschamps founded Vandeavors Fine Art Services, a company that has beco- me integral to New York’s art community, supporting galleries, collectors, and artists with logistical expertise. This venture not only sustains his artistic practice but also deepens his understanding of the art world, influencing his own work by emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship and pre- sentation.
Deschamps’ commitment to community and noncommercial art is most evident
in his latest venture, Neighbors Gallery. Founded in 2023 with his partner and neigh- bors, Neighbors began as a shared space in Chinatown, showcasing underrepresented and outsider art. The gallery quickly gained a reputation for its innovative exhibitions, such as a show dedicated to T-shirts and another featuring Department of Sanitation workers. When the lease ended, Deschamps transformed Neighbors into a roving pop-up gallery, continuing its mission to celebrate unconventional voices and foster commu- nity through art.
