InThe Year of the Tsunami, you weave a powerful story about promises, legacy, and survival. What inspired you to write this novel, particularly with such a personal connection to the Holocaust?
In the interest of full disclosure, the early manuscript drafts revolved around aimless hedonism in Amsterdam. Then, I converted
