Join us as we delve into the mind and heart of Shari Emami, a woman whose wisdom, empathy, and dedication continue to inspire and heal.
What inspired you to write “Breaking Free From Pain”?
What practical advice do you offer to those currently struggling with fibromyalgia?
It takes a good team of doctors, and natural healers to come up with ways to cope and fig- ure out how to lessen the pain. I have several techniques written in my book and a list of what types of alternative therapy treatments can do for you. This includes massage therapy, acupuncture , chiropractic care and much more. There is also information on what type of therapists to go to and community support.
How do you incorporate holistic healing modalities into your daily routine?
I’m a holistic health practitioner and health coach and I always start the day with medi- tation, good nutrition and a light workout. I want to make sure I’m properly fueled and get a good workout routine, but one that is more low impact.
What role do you believe community support plays in managing chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia?
There are so many religious and emotional support groups to reach out to. It’s important to meet others that share similar struggles that you are dealing with. There you can gain some great coping tools on dealing with chronic pain. You may make some friends too!
What advice would you give to aspiring authors who wish to write about their personal health journeys?
I would say don’t hold back. Carve out time each day or every other day to write and say what you want to say. Start with your concept
, message and outline and then go from there. It’s so therapeutic and when your message gets across to others and can help them, it’s the best feeling ever.
I have always loved writing and during my trials and tribulations of trying to pinpoint what was causing my aches and pains, I was inspired to write my book. I figured through what I went through , the ups and downs and what I found to be helpful towards my own healing, gave me the courage to write my book. I was also heavily influenced by the teachings of Dr. Paul Eck and hair mineral analysis testing, as a non-invasive diagnostic tool. He is known as “the founding father” of hair mineral testing. It’s an important testing technique to look at cellular activity in the system and mineral imbalances. It can reveal a lot about your health. In addition, through my own journey and battle, I wanted to share my viewpoint and what worked for me in terms

of managing my pain. Through my studies, I also wanted to share my knowledge in holistic medicine and healing modalities. My book goes into a lot of details on methods the read- ers can use to help with their treatment plan.
Shari Emami’s wisdom and compassion shine through her work, inspiring countless individuals to embrace holistic healing and reclaim their lives from chronic pain.
Can you share a pivotal moment in your journey with fibromyalgia that influenced your healing process?
I wanted to understand the mind and body connection. I started to understand how through working with various doctors and naturopaths that there was both a physical and emotional aspect to getting fibromyalgia.
How do you approach the emotional aspects of living with fibromyalgia in your book?
In my book, I talk about various therapy techniques and offer interactive journals and exercises that can help, and have been backed up by research . I also talk about trauma and chronic stress as being a major component
to getting fibromyalgia. Chapter 3 is a bit personal, but it is essential to my story as it gives readers lessons to learn from toxic rela- tionships and how they can harm your mental and physical health. There is a good chapter on how to handle the emotional challenges
of dealing with pain and who to reach out to, how to get help.
