Everyone has heard of antioxidants, and their various bene ts for our skin, but don’t actually know what these antioxidants are, or what they do.
In the ght against free radicals, the molecules that dam- age the di erent components of our skin’s cell (DNA, Proteins and outer barrier), antioxidants are proven to be extremely bene cial. As naturally occurring vitamins, antioxidants help neutralize these free radicals thereby keeping them contained. With this and many other ben- e ts such as brightened skin and reduced hyperpigmen- tation in mind, skincare with antioxidants is considered a must have today.

The Super Power of Antioxidants
Di erent vitamins o er di erent bene ts when added to skincare regimes. Some of the most commonly used vitamins in skincare are vitamins A, C, E, and F.
Vitamin A – A widely used vitamin in skincare is Vitamin A, which is known for its an- ti-ageing properties. You’ll nd this antioxidant in the name of retinol in skincare (retinol is the concentrated version of this vitamin). Retinol is known to ll wrinkles, smoothen ne lines and rough patches on the skin. It is also commonly used to combat severe acne, by decreasing in ammation, controlling excess sebum production, evening out skin tones and increasing cell growth to heal acne scarring. Vitamin C – For skin that is dull and needs brightening, Vitamin C is the ultimate antiox- idant. With results showing after 6-8 weeks of continuous use, this vitamin is responsible for lightening dark spots and reducing hyperpigmentation, resulting in bright and glow- ing skin. Vitamin E – For moisturising bene ts, one of the more commonly used antioxidants is Vi- tamin E. The gentle but e ective vitamin has anti-in ammatory properties and anti-age- ing properties, all while maintaining elasticity and keeping skin soft. Its gentle nature allows for it to be used synergistically with other antioxidants. That’s why you’ll nd a lot of Vitamins C and E combined skincare products in the market! Vitamin F – For skin that seems dry and dull, but is also acne prone, Vitamin F is the way to go. Vitamin F represents linoleic acid, which is a fa y acid rich in omega-6. These fats (also known as lipids) are extremely important to maintain a healthy skin barrier. MZ Skin Tone & Lift Roller is made with germanium, a key ingredient in activating and balancing the positive and negative ions responsible for ageing, while simultaneously defending skin from surrounding environmental aggressors.
